The 2018 Cabernet Franc, accented with 13% Cabernet Sauvignon, unfolds with a spicy and firm nose. It expresses notes of ripe cherries and an assertive intensity that captivates the palate. While slightly jagged in its youth, the wine possesses compelling depth and complexity, suggesting the potential for further refinement with time. It is medium to full-bodied and boasts a solid structure and firm tannins, indicating its food-friendly nature. This Cabernet Franc is marked with a classic note of pyrazines with pepper characteristics. It lends a fresh and invigorating quality yet hints at the need for additional time in the bottle to allow it to reach its full potential. This wine underwent spontaneous fermentation in large oak and stainless steel fermenters. Following 24 months of aging in 225-liter French oak barrels, of which 50% were new, it was bottled unfiltered and aged for an additional three years before release. Nicely done! This is a production of 7,200 bottles.
