The 2024 Riesling Ayler Kupp Neuenberg No. 17 is from a Grosse Lage west of the adjoining Ayler Kupp with more distance from the river. While the nose does not give much away beyond yeastiness, the palate shows beautifully developed stone fruit. It is tart yet ripe, smooth, bright and tender. The 2024 is toned in body, with real substance and muscle but without any fat at all. It is drier than usual, with a gorgeously juicy streak of lemon that shines and lasts. (Bone-dry)
