Wine Consultants
Mark
Wessels
Marks wine interests over the past 20 + years have taken
him to various parts of the country before landing in DC.
His wine knowledge is astounding and wine lovers across the
country seek him out for his advice and insight into past,
present and futures vintages. Mark is MacArthurs manager
and over the years his relationships with French wine producers
have developed into sincere friendships and MacArthurs
wine clients have only to benefit from his expertise. Although
he enjoys wines from around the globe, his wine heart lies
in France, particularly Bordeaux.
Joe Kluchinsky
Joe has been with MacArthurs since 1983 and during those
years there is not a wine-producing region on this planet
that Joe is not well versed in. His wine heart,
however, lies in Bourgogne and it is there where he searches
out the best producers, which is not an easy task. Burgundian
growers and producers are notoriously very private and a certain
level of trust must be established in order to become a part
of their community. Joe is well ensconced in Bourgogne and
doors to caves are opened to him up and down the Cote dOr.
Because of Joes keen interest, MacArthurs is able
to bring you wines not to be easily found here in the US.
Tom
Hanna
Tom is without a doubt one of a hand full of leaders in Italian
wines in the United States today. He has been immersed in
Italy for over 25 years and there are few quality producers
he hasnt heard of or know. His Italian wine devotees
come from all over the world and he is just as passionate
about Italian wines today as he was 20 years ago. Even though
he knows most Italian wines, Italy is so vast and wines are
constantly changing today he keeps his watchful eye on the
Italian wine scene. His acute tasting ability and keen sense
for quality has only benefited MacArthurs giving us
one of the most extensive Italian wine selections in the United
States.
Steve
Cornwell
Steve has been with MacArthurs for 8 years and
has brought with him a wealth of knowledge and a passion
for wines from the Rhone. He is so well versed in smaller
properties as well as the heavy hitters in the Loire and
Rhone Valley, Alsace and Bourgogne that when asked for a
recommendation, hell give you 20! He is enthusiastic
about wines from around the world and loves introducing
clients to wines that he personally selects for MacArthurs.
Steve is very customer service oriented and has developed
a very loyal following.
Andy
Creemer
Andy has been with MacArthur’s since 2000 and has
an extensive background in hotels and fine dining. Andy now
heads up our Australian, Champagne and Domestic wine departments
and organizes our annual California Barrel tasting and Wine
dinner in March, which he has been involved in since he was
at the Watergate hotel in 1998. If you have any questions on
wine parings with food, special events or any other questions
please contact him by phone or email him at acreemer@bassins.com.
Tim Adams
Tim brings
with him 8 years of wine experience and an extensive culinary
background including a degree from The Culinary Institute of
America. He has held position various positions in New York
City and in the Washington metro area on the restaurant side
of the wine business, the wholesale and retail side for wine
and beers. Tim has a particular interest in Italian wines and
has come to MacArthurs to work with Tom Hanna.
Phil Bernstein
Phil is the latest addition to our wine staff. He comes to us with a strong retail background. Phil is in charge of the buying for Germany, Austria, Spain and South America. He is also a lover of the great wines of France and Italy. Phil is very passionate about customer service and loves to chat about wine.
