2000 Bordeaux Dinner at Zola Wine & Kitchen – Thursday, February 25, 2010 – 7:00PM
Our next tasting will be a 2000 Bordeaux tasting at Zola Wine & Kitchen located at 505 9th Street, NW, in
Washington. 2000 was not only the first vintage of the new millennium, but was hailed as one of the greatest
Bordeaux vintages ever. While there is a lot of hyperbole in Bordeaux, I wholeheartedly agree that 2000 is one of the
greatest Bordeaux vintages of my lifetime. Having participated in a tasting of about fifteen of the top 2000 Bordeaux’s
last fall, I found many of the top wines to still be closed and not showing their best. With that in mind, I chose a
selection of left bank wines that I think are showing well. After an aperitif of the wonderful Plantiers du Haut Brion
Blanc (2003), the second white of Haut Brion, we will then have three flights from the left bank, Pauillac, St. Estephe
and Graves. Maybe later this year, we can check out wines from the right bank, as well as St. Julien and Margaux.
This is guaranteed to be a fun and interesting tasting and Zola Kitchen’s dishes should be a good accompaniment to the
wines.
The price of the tasting is $165.00 per person including gratuity.
Please sign up soon as seating is limited.
