The 2019 Bordeaux campaign has been a smashing success! Prices are at their lowest levels in many years and great buys are certainly abundant in this vintage. Sadly allocations were tight on many wines and our numbers of bottles for sale are dwindling. Now would be a good time to make sure you don’t miss some of these blue chip wines. I expect prices to rise over the next year on many (if not all) of these wines.
The annual tasting of the new vintage held each Spring in Bordeaux was cancelled this year, but a few of our suppliers have sent samples and we’ve tasted through quite a few wines. Loads of freshness and very subtle tannins… lots of class and pedigree-they remind me a bit of the 2016’s. Please feel free to email me at pbernstein@bassins.com if you’d like some feedback. I’ll make a special mention for Lafon Rochet. I absolutely loved the "throwback" style of this wine and it’s a ridiculous bargain at $39!
Besides the obvious high scoring wines from the below list we were also very impressed by:

As you may know there is currently a 25% tariff in effect for all French wines. Our prices below do not include this tariff. We hope (and pray) that it will be gone by the time this wine arrives in the USA. If not our plan is to keep the wine in France with the hope that the tariff ends (up to a year). The worst case scenario is that we will ask customers to split the tariff cost with us. If this happens and you decide that you do not want to pay the extra 12.5% we will offer a full refund on your purchase.
