You absolutely need to set this bottle aside for more time to allow it to integrate and soften. At this tasting, it offers a tightly knit texture with firm tannins that reflect this cool and classic vintage. There is a point of oak astringency, but the general fiber and texture of the wine is rich enough to add a buffering. It opens to a medium ruby color, and its flavors of wild berry, dried cherry, rose and tar last for many long minutes. Precisely 4,457 bottles were released.
