The 2019 Chablis Montee de Tonnerre 1er Cru is intense on the nose, showing a little reduction, although that soon blows away to reveal lime, yellow plum and light crushed stone aromas. The palate is fresh on the entry, with more edge than the Vaillons and Vaucoupin that I tasted alongside. Similarly, there is a tang of salinity toward the finish that keeps this Chablis alert and fresh, showing decent persistence on the finish. Very fine.
