A new single malt from Bunnahabhain. The name might look somewhat intimidating, but it is easily pronounced as stew-radhur, and means Helmsman, a reference to the sea-going influence on this distillery. This whisky has been created by Dr. Kirstie McCallum, the master blender of Bunnahabhain, who has blended together whisky of different ages from first and second fill Sherry casks, found in the distillery's coastal warehouses. This is a rich and vibrant whisky, with a full sherry influence and lovely maritime edge. Drinkers should expect notes of sea spray, dried fruit, toffee and dark oak. The whisky is an unpeated Islay malt, is non chill filtered, and is bottled at 46.3% ABV which allows the flavours of the dram to really take hold. The packaging features an anchor and a rope, perfect for recalling the coastal elements to this fine dram!
