The 2020 Volnay Clos des Chenes 1er Cru has a well-defined bouquet with dark cherries, blueberry and violet aromas, almost Cote de Nuits-like in style. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red berry fruit, veins of blueberry, lightly spiced with white pepper and a touch of clove towards the finish. Great length here. Superb.
