Codigo 1530 Mezcal Artesanal Joven is an ensamble made from Maguey Espadin (Agave angustifolia) and Maguey Tobala (Agave potatorum) in San Juan del Rio, Oaxaca. The agaves in cooked in a stone oven, crushed by tahona, and distilled in copper pots. The spirit is rested in Sauvignon Blanc wine barrels. Tasting notes include: vanilla, citrus, dark cherry, earth, stone, clay, and smoke.
