Hailing from a gravel-based vineyard that's 50 to 80 years old, the 2019 Chinon Les Vieilles Vignes has been matured in concrete tanks since 2014; before that, it was aged in barrel. Offering pure fruit with excellent density (but then the average yield was around 25hl/ha in 2019 due to frost and coulure), it retains a lightness on its feet and displays a silken, creamy texture and fine, gravelly-textured tannins. The finish features pencil lead and a savory twist.
