Entirely from 40- to 50-year-old vines trained on single poles in a southwest-facing parcel and the Gelbe Weide plots in the Goldgrube, the 2020 Wolfer Riesling aged on the lees until the end of September. Tasted from the tank at the domain on the last day of October 2021, only two days after the 2021 harvest had finished, the wine was ready for filtration, which was scheduled for early November. The wine offers a coolish, spicy-pure and mineral bouquet with stony and herbal notes as well as rather white and lemony yet discreet fruit aromas. Pure, piquant and salty on the palate, this is a medium-bodied, tight, dry and tensioned but also lush and stimulating dry Riesling with fine grip and delicate bitters on the finish. It's so expressive and so super stimulating despite its dryness. Impressive.
