This is the wine that taught me what to expect of wines made in the Ripasso process. The Cesari family was one of the first to successfully communicate an identity for these special wines. From a hot vintage, the 2017 Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore Bosan (with 60,000 bottles made) shows dark fruit, dried blackberry, spice, tar and sweet smoke. This pretty wine would taste great with a hearty meal by the fireplace.
