A perfumed mix of crushed peaches and nectarines, dusty dried florals, incense and stone dust captivates as the 2017 Jakot opens in the glass. While round and silky in feel, this impresses with an intense core of sour citrus and salty minerals, while taking on a tropical florality toward the close. Green melon, hints of kiwi, blood orange, gingery spice…the list goes on and on, as this lingers incredibly long. The 2017 is insanely beautiful and layered, yet be aware that production was down by 30% in this vintage. The Jakot is a varietal Tocai Friulano that goes through three months of skin contact before refining for another three years in large neutral oak casks
