Fusel, smoky and intriguingly musky notes mingle on the nose with scents of lemon, lime and apple. At roughly 12.5% alcohol, there is fullness without heaviness on the polished palate, and the finish is invigoratingly juicy and tangy as well as impressive in sheer gripping, lip-licking persistence of smoky, stony and saline elements. Compared with past Grosse Gew?chse from this estate, I have to consider that the Loewens' efforts in this genre may have finally settled into a highly successful stylistic groove.
