Dark red with a pale rim. Aromatic herbs and underbrush dominate at first on the reduced nose, but clear slowly with aeration to offer hints of pomegranate, red currant and ink. Then very smooth, with polished tannins nicely supporting the broad flavors of tangy red berries, flint and botanical herbs. Lovely length and noteworthy precision to this outstanding Aglianico, which showcases just how great Taurasi can be. Another extremely impressive wine from Guastaferro this year.
