From 60- to 80-year-old vines, the 2019 Niedermenniger Herrenberg Riesling Kabinett trocken #1 Mutter Anna is clear, bright and pure on the stony and well-concentrated nose. Tight, straight and fresh on the palate, this dry, pure and salty Riesling is like a wake-up call after midnight. It is firm, tight and still austere but with intensity and length. This wine needs all of your patience but will pay it back handsomely. Tasted in May 2020.
