The 2018 Dolcetto d'Alba is a very pretty wine with terrific varietal character to match its mid-weight personality. Although Dolcetto does not get a ton of love, it has long been one of the many strong suits here. The 2018 is a bit lighter than most editions?that is the vintage?but it also has terrific nuance as well as complexity, with hints of leather, cedar, licorice and tobacco wrapped around a core of dark plum fruit.
