The saturated purple-hued 2017 Crozes-Hermitage Les Croix comes from clay and limestone soils in the commune of Beaumont-Monteux. Beautiful notes of cassis, sappy spring flowers, graphite, and pepper all emerge from the glass, and it hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness followed by nicely integrated acidity, fine tannins, and a great finish. It's unquestionably an outstanding wine and will benefit from 2-4 years of bottle age and keep for a decade. It's also the finest vintage of this cuvée I've tasted.
