The Capraia 2018 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Effe 55 offers an interesting duality with the linearity and sharpness of the vintage contrasted against some of the softer and earthier elements we saw in the other new releases from this estate in Gaiole in Chianti. Made with 100% Sangiovese, the wine shows nice complexity over a smooth, tapered personality. Dark fruit cedes to potting soils, flower root and grilled herb. Production is 6,000 bottles.
