The 2021 Erdener Prälat Riesling Auslese *** (Golden Capsule) offers an intense and rich but delicate botrytis bouquet with stewed apricot aromas intertwined with fine herbal and slatey notes. Lush and round yet highly refined and very elegant on the palate, with stunning balance and finesse, this is a gorgeous Auslese from this grand cru that finishes with salivating salinity and a highly refined, crystalline acidity. A fabulous Auslese that already tastes dangerously well and complex. The grapes were picked at 125° Oechsle and then fermented in stainless steel to 7.5% stated alcohol. The residual sugar of 170 grams per liter is uplifted by 8.3 grams per liter of total acidity. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in July 2022. 375-milliliter bottles.
