With fruit from the Berri Vineyard in La Morra, the Mauro Molino 2019 Barolo Gallinotto gives us a taste of a single-vineyard wine made outside the official MGA classification. The wine has a dustier personality with a bigger mineral presence that recalls limestone and crushed rock. That elegant note gives linearity and saying power to the wine, but it also serves to frame a core of wild berry and rose. This expression also shows a clear oak signature of spice or toasted cinnamon with drying tannins to follow. It offers the whole Nebbiolo package with hints of the extra intensity and firmness that define 2019. Production is 8,000 bottles.
