The 2022 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Vergers 1er Cru has a slightly chalky bouquet with hints of linseed and walnut in the background. Backward initially, it soon "warms up" in the glass. The palate is very well-balanced with a smooth, slightly creamy texture counterbalancing acidity, keeping this on its toes. There's still a patina of new oak to be subsumed (20%), so afford this a couple of years in bottle.
