Here’s a cab that’s been through Veneto’s traditional grape-drying process before fermentation, followed by at least a couple of years in French-oak tonneaux. The result is a full-bodied red with bright currant and berry fruit and an initial, silky mouth feel. Then firm tannins take center stage and build quickly to give a slightly chewy finish. But the bright fruit is still there at the end. Lovely, interesting wine, but it’s going to need a while to soften. Try from 2023.
