The 2016 Sagrantino di Montefalco is youthfully coy, showing only spiced cherry nuances and shaved cedar hints. This is a soft, round and juicy effort, with vibrant acidity enlivening its ripe wild berry fruits as saline minerals add traction toward the close. Fine-grained tannins tug at the palate, leaving primary staining of concentration as inner rose and violet florals fade. The 2016 is a wonderfully classic Sagrantino from Colsanto.
