Please stop by Saturday to taste some staples of the always great import portfolio of Kermit Lynch with Jean and Alexa of Prestige. We are sure you all know what the "KL" logo means on the back of the bottle- Authentic wine from small producers at the highest possible quality.

Bugey Cerdon La Cueille Bottex
In La Cueille, one of seven high-altitude hamlets surrounding the historic medieval town of Poncin, Patrick and Catherine Bottex—recently joined by their son, Carl—farm the rocky limestone slopes above the Ain River. They have been working five hectares of land since 1991 and produce only a small quantity of their beautiful, intriguing sparkling wine. While a number of grape varieties are permitted in the Bugey, including Altesse, Chardonnay, and Mondeuse, the wines of Cerdon are dominated by Gamay. Chez Bottex, ten percent Poulsard, imported from the Jura just to the north, fills out the blend as a secondary cépage. They craft this irresistible low-alcohol rosé using the méthode ancestrale, a rare technique that predates the méthode champenoise. In the cellar, the grapes are pressed directly after harvest, and the must begins a natural fermentation in cuve. When roughly 60 grams of sugar remain, the tanks are cooled down to halt fermentation, and the wine is bottled under crown cap. A secondary fermentation begins spontaneously as the bottles are laid to rest for the winter, until the rising pressure causes fermentation to stop once again, having consumed roughly 20 additional grams of sugar. The bottles are then disgorged and filtered to avoid unwanted refermentations, and bottled under cork. The resulting wine is delightfully refreshing with bright fruit, crisp acidity, a beautiful deep pink hue, and a tantalizing touch of sweetness

2021 Chateau Graville Lacoste Blanc – Graves
Located just across the road from Chateau Climens, Graville-Lacoste produces a Graves Blanc, known primarily for its stony soil composition and fresh minerality. This wine is made with a high proportion of Sémillion (60%) and a splash of Muscadelle (5%) with Sauvignon Blanc (35%), creating a rich, full, aromatic mid-palate to complement the clean finish.

2021 Minet, Regis - Pouilly Fume V.V.
Pouilly-sur-Loire produces one of the greatest Sauvignon Blancs in the world. Régis' vineyards sit at 750 feet, surrounded by hills on the far east of the Loire River, and centered proudly on the prized limestone and clay of the Kimmeridgian chain. The scattered flint in these vineyards imbues the wines with a character quite distinctive from the neighboring village of Sancerre. In the eloquent words of KLWM Store Manager, Steve Waters, "You couldn't ask for a cleaner, fresher, flintier, or truer expression of Sauvignon Blanc. Its mouth-watering acidity, depth of flavor, and fleshy texture will have you racing back for more."

2021 Chateau Thivin - Cote de Brouilly
The 2021 Côte de Brouilly has turned out nicely, mingling aromas of cherries and berries with notions of burning embers and forest floor. Medium-bodied, fleshy and vibrant, with a lively core of fruit, powdery tannins and a sapid, saline finish, it marks a return to a more classically proportioned style after several richer, riper vintages. This tasting note refers to the cuvée imported in the United States, but readers in the rest of the world will find that the estate's Sept Vignes bottling, which sees a light filtration, is very similar in profile.

2020 Domaine Faury - Saint-Joseph Rouge
I tasted a few barrels of Faury's 2020 Saint Joseph, which looks to be nearly at the same level as his 2019, despite not being as dense or concentrated. Balanced and silky, with a deft combination of black olives and cherries, it's a medium-bodied head-turner than should drink well for 8-10 years.
