From the outstanding 2020 vintage we are pleased to offer these two whites from a couple of Burgundy's most important vineyard owners and negociants- Joseph Faiveley (founded in 1825) and Joseph Drouhin (founded in 1880). Both firms produce top-flight reds and whites from top to bottom.
Montagny, as you know, is from the Cote Chalonnaise a region known for producing well made, good value wines. This will bring welcome relief to those of you who have noticed the dramatic increase in white Burgundy prices. The real value plays in Burgundy these days are from top growers in lesser-known real estate. Both of these are outstanding value (almost ridiculous value to be honest) in great Chardonnay.
2020 Joseph Faiveley – Montagny
Bottled with technical corks, the 2020 Montagny offers up scents of crisp white peach, spring flowers, freshly baked bread and honeysuckle. Medium to full-bodied, lively and layered, it's unusually chiseled and concentrated this year, standing out as the best communal Montagny I've ever tasted from Faiveley.
