Summer Sippers:

Kellerei Eisacktal / Cantina Valle Isarco

Perfect for Summer Gatherings and Evenings On The Patio!

In these sunny winegrowing areas, the northernmost in Italy, where glaciers meet the gentle rolling hills of the Mediterranean, vines have been grown for centuries producing wines of great character. Thanks to variety in soils, cultivation areas and sunlight exposures, as well as to the particular microclimate, each vineyard develops a personality and special character of its own.

The precious wisdom of the farmers is, in essence, the heart of the winemaking tradition of the Isarco Valley, the primary aim of which is to cultivate high-quality grapes through ecologically sustainable methods, thanks to which the vines can give their very best. Every year, about 130 growers from the different wine-making areas deliver their harvest to the Cantina Valle Isarco, confiding in the experience and expertise of the winemaker.

2021 Kellerei Eisacktaler - Pinot Grigio Valle Isarco

So clean and so crisp, the 2021 Pinot Grigio lifts up with notes of freshly sliced yellow apple, hints of lime zest and gingery spice. This is supple, with a balanced sweetness contrasted by zesty notes of lime and tart orchard fruit. It leaves a buzzing of residual acids that keeps the mouth watering while tapering off with medium length. This tension-filled Pinot Grigio is a total pleasure to taste.

2021 Kellerei Eisacktaler - Sauvignon Valle Isarco

Explosive aromas of yellow grapefruit, nettles and fresh tarragon are married to a sleek and very crisp attack, but then the ripeness and body expand on the palate in the ripe-melon direction and the acidity turns out much softer than the first impression suggested. Drink now.

2021 Kellerei Eisacktaler - Kerner Valle Isarco

Aromas of yellow stone fruit, Alpine herb and citrus come to the forefront on this vibrant, full-bodied white. Offering a great depth of flavor, the palate features ripe yellow peach, grapefruit and smoky mineral before closing on notes of hazelnut and nutmeg.
92 Points Wine Enthusiast

The 2021 Kerner is quite pretty and perfumed in the glass with a bouquet that mixes savory herbs, green apples, wet stone and tropical floral nuances. This is silky-smooth, almost weighty in feel, yet nicely balanced by stimulating green citrus tones and mineral-tinged acids. Energy remains high throughout the finale, as the 2021 leaves the palate buzzing with residual tension and resonating on hints of sage and candied lime. Very nice.

2021 Kellerei Eisacktaler - Kerner Valle Isarco Aristos

"Here's a new submission from Cantina Valle Isarco. The steel-fermented 2021 Alto Adige Sauvignon Aristos has bright aromas of passion fruit and lychee, all followed by citrus, green apple and tomato leaf. This high-elevation Sauvignon Blanc (with 8,000 bottles made) has more in common with its cousins from New Zealand. Sauvignon Blanc from Alto Adige doesn't usually have the pungent green aromas that you find in the New World alternatives. However, this wine delivers them in troves. You can put it all down to the steep mountainside vineyards (with impossible 50% slopes at 600 to 720 meters in elevation) found in the Valle Isarco, a very special wine-growing region indeed."
