Come and join Andy on Saturday afternoon. He will be pouring a few picks from his annual trip to Napa and Sonoma last September and one or two other favorites. We will be offering special pricing on all these wines (too low to list online!). Come on in and see how good they are!
2022 Ridge Vineyards Estate Grenache Blanc
Fourteen miles inland, this unique growing area creates conditions well suited to grenache Blanc. The grapes were whole cluster pressed, fermented dry, and aged on the lees for six months. Cool summer fogs off the Pacific, the minerality of limestone soils, and the spice and bright acidity of the Picpoul have provided an enticing wine. It will be most enjoyable over the next four to five years. Winemaker's Notes
This bottling from three vineyards employs 14% Picpoul to add acidic heft to the formula, which checks off so many white-wine boxes. Aromas of sliced peach, coconut and macadamia nut are cut by crushed stone and chalk on the nose. The palate is rounded in salted peach and melon flavors but remains vibrant in acidity and firm in texture long into the finish.

2021 Tan Fruit Sophie's Vineyard Chardonnay
The 2021 Chardonnay Sophie's Vineyard comes from an isolated vineyard near the town of Yoncalla in the Umpqua Valley, planted in the late 1970s with Draper and Wente selections. Matured in oak and finished with four months in stainless steel, it has fresh scents of green pear, quince and citrus blossom with undertones of almonds, flint and honey. The light-bodied palate is creamy and plush with gently nutty fruits and a long, refreshing finish.

2020 Hartford Court Four Hearts Vineyards Chardonnay
This highly textured wine displays aromas of yellow apple, honeysuckle and tangerine skin. Fresh flavors of Granny Smith apple and Meyer lemon are intertwined with layers of spice and crystallized ginger. A rich and weighty mid-palate is followed by a very long exotic, mineral-infused finish. Winemaker's Notes
The 2020 Chardonnay Four Hearts Vineyard comes mostly from 45-year-old Wente vines in the Laguna Ridge neighborhood of the Russian River Valley. It was barrel fermented and matured for 11 months in 35% new French oak. It has a beautiful perfume of jasmine, white peaches, ginger and roasted almonds, plus touches of lemon cream and baking spice in the undercurrent. The medium-bodied palate surprises with its combination of intense fruits and focused, tangy acidity. It has a satiny texture, streaks of flinty character and a very long, layered finish.

2021 Larkin Cabernet Franc
This beauty from Sean is sold out at the winery and now only available through MacArthur Beverages...
The 2021 vintage marks the 23rd vintage for Sean. I had the opportunity to taste this in Napa in September and was very impressed. The fruit was again sourced from the Pocai Vineyard, which is adjacent to the famous Three Palms Vineyard in Calistoga. The 2021 bottling is a blend of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. It is a full-bodied, rich wine with beautiful floral notes, a rich velvety mid-palate with lush blueberry, raspberry fruit and notes of mocha and spice.

2021 Barnett Vineyards Spring Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon
The 2021 Spring Mountain Cabernet exhibits the darkest purple that we have ever had on this wine. Blackberry, caramel, and anise jump from the glass. There are beautiful notes of cassis concentrate, cedar, and dark cigar tobacco. The wine has a pretty and silky entry, with more dark berry fruit and cigar box notes. Black cherry and rich dark chocolate are also present on the palate. The tannins are very firm this year, yet chalky and not biting. There is strong mountain acidity to balance the tannins out. The wine has a long cocoa/nib mocha finish. This big, concentrated Cabernet will age beautifully over the next 14-16 years.
Sage and bay leaf join black cherries and a hint of vanilla on the nose, while the full-bodied palate is soft and easy drinking but with decent backbone and length and plentiful soft, dusty tannins on the finish. The blend includes 12% Petite Verdot.
