It's no secret that second-growth Brane Cantenac is now one of the hottest properties in the Medoc. The last 5 plus years have seen massive scores from all the wine press and Henri Lurton and his team are crafting truly amazing wine from this exceptional terroir.
During our visit last Fall to Brane Cantenac with the charismatic Mr. Lurton we "discovered" this absolute gem. Made from the younger plots on the property, this is the "3rd" wine of Brane Cantenac. With less elevage in oak, it's designed for younger drinking but the number one goal here is to make sure the Brane C house style is on display. You know right away you are in Margaux-with elegance, perfume and just pure class. 2019 as you know, was an outstanding vintage and the freshness and refinement are very much on display here. Best of all is the price. $30 for a 2019 Margaux? Yes please! Buy a case (or two) and drink over the next few years...
