As one of the original supporters of Clos de Los Siete we are happy to see that it has continued to be an incredibly consistent, and flat out amazing value in red wine. If you don't know they story behind this wine, it's quite unique. Famed Bordeaux oenologist, Michel Rolland had been consulting in Argentina for quite a few years and found a huge parcel in the Uco valley. Knowing that it was too big for just one winery, he invited seven families from Bordeaux (hence the "siete" in the name) to build their own wineries on the property (surrounded by a wall hence the "clos" in the name). In addition to their own wines, they would all provide fruit for the flagship Clos de los Siete with Mr. Rolland in charge of the blending. The first vintage was 2002 and this shockingly has remained a sub $20 wine, and frankly it punches well above it's weight. For one week only we have dropped our price to make it the lowest in the USA!
2020 Clos de los Siete - Malbec Blend Valle de Uco
"A pretty profound nose with hints of mineral, wild herbs, violets and asphalt on top of the currants and blackberries. A twist of herbs and cocoa powder. Medium- to full-bodied with a supple, round mid-palate and a juicy, sleek finish. Tannins are soft and really polished. Pleasing, but pretty dry. Nothing sweet here. Beautiful balance. 55% malbec, 16% merlot, 15% cabernet sauvignon, 9% syrah, 3% petit verdot and 2% cabernet franc. Drink or hold."
