Hand-harvested in early October and fermented without added yeast, the wine macerates on the skins for about two weeks, rests on the lees for three more, then ages 15 months before bottling. Expect a substantial, meaty red with dark berry fruit, tea leaf, and a hint of licorice, finer and more restrained than many varietal Nero d'Avola bottlings while still carrying real weight and structure.
