The vines were planted in 2012, and the first bottling came in 2019, once the young plantings had earned a single-vineyard designation.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eTwo soils shape the wine. Granite-based soils grow small vines that contribute ripeness and richness, while clay-based Greenstone soils grow large, vigorous vines that add zippy, herbal character. The 2024 season was hot and dry, with budbreak a week early, and the grapes were picked on August 26, one of the earliest harvest dates in Linden’s history. Winemaking is deliberately simple and conservative to let the site speak. In previous vintages, the wine has been fermented in old puncheons and barrels and aged on its lees.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eLime zest aromas lead, followed by a perky, wound-up palate full of energy. The youthful vines show exuberance, classic Sauvignon character, and a bit of rock and roll, while the hot, dry growing season adds weight, density, and heft underneath.
