The fruit comes mainly from a 1.5-hectare parcel replanted in 2003, plus younger vines from the estate’s top sites. It’s 90% Sangiovese with small amounts of Canaiolo and Colorino. Like all the estate’s wines, it’s fermented in cement, aged in large Slavonian oak casks and bottled unfiltered. Expect wild strawberry, sour cherry, violets and rose petals, with a hint of smoke. The palate is juicy and crunchy, with lively acidity, firm tannins and a spicy finish.
