2021 Terre Nere Etna Bianco
A perfect, delicious wine made with a blend of white native varietals: Carricante, Catarratto, Inzolia, Grecanico and Minnella along with a prevalence of Carricante. Having the spontaneous grace of a dancer, this wine never loses its brightness and pace. As it ages, it shows the nobility of its terroir emerges decisively becoming thoughtful and profound, but never redundant. 2021 Terre Nere Etna Bianco Monalto Sottana Vigne Niche
Coming from the south side of Mount Etna is a tiny vineyard from which my favorite white grapes came. The area is known as Montalto, although it is not classified as a Contrada. And here, at 950 meters, in the most perfect and constantly breezy aspect, lies my small and very old vineyard. The wine is characterized by a voluptuous softness and spicy and "warm" aromas, underlined by a full alcoholic vigor and a balanced freshness resulting from the combination of full exposure at noon and a very high altitude. 2020 Terre Nere Etna Rosso San Lorenzo
On the north side of Etna only three Contradas are "pure" elliptical terroir: Bocca d'Orzo, Calderara and San Lorenzo. The Elliptic soil is the oldest surface layer where it is possible to plant in the San Lorenzo appellation. Here vines grow on soils 15.000-60,000 years old at 750m in altitude. The Contrada that marks the North West border of the D.O.C. Etna also has the coldest climate of the D.O.C. The climate combined with soils especially rich in ash, creates a unique and unrepeatable combination. Intern the wines evolve to enclose vigor and generosity in a sumptuous tension.
