2021 Bodegas Maurodos - Prima

The entry-level cuvée from legendary winemaker Mariano García — formerly the longtime cellarmaster at Vega Sicilia — crafted at his family's Toro estate with the same meticulous attention that defines all his wines. Sourced from estate vineyards aged 10–35 years on clay and sandy soils, aged 14 months in a combination of French and American oak barrels. Alive and dense in color, with aromas of red and black fruit, fresh spices, pine forest, soft smoke, hints of black olive, citrus, and sweet fruit on a mineral background; meaty and intense on the palate with vibrant acidity leaving a pleasant velvety sensation and floral hints. Supple cherry and ripe red fruits complemented by toasted oak, spice, and mineral notes, with well-handled tannins and a long, creamy finish. Toro's power with García's signature finesse
