Anthill Farms was founded in 2003 by a small group of Sonoma County winemakers focused on expressing individual vineyard sites rather than a single house style. Based in Healdsburg, the team built its reputation on cool-climate Pinot Noir and Syrah sourced from remote, often overlooked sites across Sonoma and Mendocino counties, farmed with a light, hands-off touch.

Comptche Ridge Vineyard sits deep in Mendocino County, surrounded by redwood and Douglas fir forest rather than other vineyards, a remoteness that adds real biodiversity and complexity to the fruit. The Swan and Pommard clones grow in fine sandy-clay Franciscan soils, farmed organically. The 2022 was fermented with native yeast and fifty percent whole clusters, punched down daily for three weeks, then aged fifteen months in French oak, thirty percent of it new.

This Pinot Noir offers cherry, baked cherry, and black raspberry aromas, layered with flowers, vanilla, and spice box. The medium-bodied palate is ripe yet balanced, with a sturdy backbone and energizing acidity that carries real depth and concentration. It pairs well with grilled quail, root vegetable gratin, or dry-aged beef.
