"Key vineyards: Motukawa, Mustang and Widows. The vineyards are very close to the winery so there is no appreciable skin contact. Just two small vineyards of the more than 100 ingredients are more distant. 5% lees stirred. 5% oak component. Free-run juice and six or seven different yeasts are used, as well as flotation experimentally, which is thought to build quality.

Real grip. Dry and savoury. Quite sophisticated."
