Named for the swan emblem of the family that built Château Fonréaud, Le Cygne is a rare confidential white from Listrac-Médoc, a region known almost entirely for red wine. Just 3 hectares are devoted to this bottling, in the tradition of Château Margaux's famed Pavillon Blanc. A blend of 60% Sauvignon Blanc, 25% Sémillon, and 15% Muscadelle, the 2023 shows precise, mineral-driven malic fruit on the nose, with a well-balanced palate carrying fine acidity and a bright, appealing nectarine and yellow plum finish. Taut, fresh, and food-friendly, this is textbook Médoc dry white, best served alongside shellfish, oysters, or white meat.

"This fragrant white has notes of lemon blossom, honeysuckle, sliced pears and mango crumble. It’s creamy and layered with a full body. Dense, but balanced. 60% sauvignon, 25% semillon and 15% muscadelle. Drink now."
—Claire Nesbitt-James Suckling
90 Points
"The 2023 Le Cygne has improved on the nose since I tasted it from barrel, with much more precise, quite minerally malic fruit. The palate is well balanced with fine acidity, taut and fresh, with a very appealing nectarine and yellow plum finish. I underestimated this from barrel, and it deserves a higher score.
