2023 Marc Colin - St. Aubin Sous Roche Dumay (750ml) (PRE ARRIVAL)

Domaine Marc Colin is based in Chassagne-Montrachet, where Marc began farming the family's vines in the 1970s before expanding into prized plots across Saint-Aubin, Puligny-Montrachet and Santenay. His children Damien and Caroline now run the domaine alongside their mother, Michèle, farming part of the vineyard organically and placing a strong emphasis on precision and the individual character of each parcel.

Sous Roche Dumay comes from two parcels of relatively young vines, between fifteen and twenty years old, planted on shallow limestone soil that gives the wine bright acidity and freshness. Fermentation takes place in oak barrels, and the wine is aged on its fine lees for texture and depth. The approach favors purity over overt oak influence, letting the site's mineral character carry through.

The wine is pale yellow with golden glints, opening on white flowers, blanched almond and crunchy stone fruit. The palate is rich and generous, showing white peach and fleshy nectarine with a faint honeyed note, finishing delicately chalky with a saline edge. Serve it with steamed clams, seared salmon, or a seafood pasta.
