Vintage 59 Wine Tasting with Doug Mohr

Join us this Saturday for a complimentary wine tasting featuring five wines from Vintage 59, one of the finest import portfolios in the country. Vintage 59 was started by Mac Bev alumnus Roy Cloud, and every wine carrying his sticker on the back label has been hand selected by Roy and his team for character and balance. Presenting the portfolio is Doug Mohr, a true DC wine legend many of you will remember from the glory days of Vidalia. Stop in, taste through the range, and hear the stories behind the bottles from Doug himself.

The Lineup

NV Domaine Jean-Luc Mouillard Crémant du Jura · $28.99
A traditional-method sparkler from the Jura, with fine, persistent bubbles and notes of green apple, brioche, and citrus zest. Dry and refreshing, with enough depth to work as a full pour, not just a toast.

2024 Merlin Cherrier Sancerre · $41.99
A classic Loire Sauvignon Blanc, bright with citrus, gooseberry, and fresh-cut grass. A flinty, chalky minerality runs underneath, and the finish is crisp and long. Textbook cool-climate Sancerre.

2025 Lyrarakis Vidiano Crete · $16.99
Vidiano is one of Crete's great indigenous grapes, and this bottling shows why it's gaining fans. Ripe stone fruit and honeysuckle on the nose, with a rounded, medium-bodied palate and a touch of savory minerality on the finish.

2022 Violin Pinot Noir Willamette Valley · $26.99
An Oregon Pinot Noir with bright red cherry and cranberry fruit, layered over notes of forest floor and baking spice. Silky tannins and lively acidity make it an easy, food-friendly red.

2023 Pavillon du Chavannes Côte de Brouilly "Cuvée Ambassades" · $26.99
Grown on the volcanic slopes of Mont Brouilly, this Gamay shows more structure and depth than a typical Beaujolais. Dark berry fruit and a distinct mineral edge lead into firm tannins and a long, savory finish.
