L'Ecole No. 41 was founded in 1983 in the historic Frenchtown Schoolhouse in Lowden, Washington, making it the third oldest winery in the Walla Walla Valley. Now in its second generation of family ownership, the estate has built a national reputation for terroir driven wines crafted entirely from grapes it grows itself. Long-standing relationships with some of the region's most respected vineyard sites, paired with a deep commitment to sustainable farming, have made L'Ecole one of the most visible and consistent producers in Walla Walla.

Luminesce is a white Bordeaux style blend of Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc, made exclusively from fruit grown on the estate's Seven Hills Vineyard, one of the oldest and most storied sites in the Walla Walla Valley. The vineyard's wind blown loess soils are geologically young and mineral rich, lending the wine its structure. Semillon supplies richness and body while Sauvignon Blanc contributes bright acidity and floral lift, and the two varieties are blended to highlight both depth and freshness in the finished wine.

The glass offers expressive aromas of peach, cantaloupe, and citrus blossom, with a bright note of key lime and a subtle whisper of white pepper spice. On the palate, fresh peach mingles with jasmine and a clean mineral edge, carrying through to a persistent, lively finish. Its richness and acidity make it a versatile match for roasted chicken, shellfish, or a creamy goat cheese.

92 Points
"The 2023 Luminesce Seven Hills Vineyard is a blend of 60% Sauvignon Blanc and 40% Sémillon. It has pretty scents of peach, nectarine, beeswax and tropical flowers. The medium-bodied palate offers concentrated, layered flavors balanced by vibrant acidity, and it has a long, flavorful finish. 1,250 cases produced."
