Domaine du Salvard has been a working estate since 1898, farmed continuously by five generations of the Delaille family in the Touraine district of the Loire Valley. Today brothers Emmanuel and Thierry Delaille run all forty two hectares of vineyard, with help from their father Gilbert, carrying forward a tradition of classic, understated winemaking. The family has also brought sustainable farming practices and temperature controlled vinification to the domaine, modern tools applied in service of a distinctly old-fashioned style.

Cheverny sits just west of Sancerre and only achieved its own appellation status in 1993, after years spent as one of the Loire's most respected V.D.Q.S. designated regions. This white blend is built primarily from Sauvignon Blanc, rooted in the sand, clay, and limestone plains of northeastern Touraine, with a small legally mandated addition of Chardonnay that brings extra flesh and complexity to the wine. The Sauvignon Blanc component gives Cheverny a zippier, more citrus driven character than its famous neighbor, trading grassiness for brightness.

The glass offers lively aromas of lime zest and passion fruit from the Sauvignon Blanc, layered with Meyer lemon and orchard fruit from the Chardonnay. The palate stays fresh and mouthwatering, with citrus and green apple flavors carrying through to a clean, dry finish. Its versatility makes it a natural match for goat cheese, grilled asparagus, or a simple seafood salad.
