The estate

Denis Durantou passed away in 2020 but he will be remembered as one of the greatest winemakers of the right bank. Today, his daughters are proudly taking over the management and honoring this heritage.

In 2000, Denis Durantou vinified Château Les Cruzelles for the first time in the Lalande de Pomerol appellation, where the quality of the terroirs had enabled him to create La Chenade five years earlier. The Durantou family also owns L'Eglise-Clinet.

All in one piece, with the exclusive use of the cadastral site known as ‘Les Cruzelles’, its 10 hectares of clay-gravel terroir - identical to that of the Pomerol plateau - are located one kilometre as the crow flies from Château L'Eglise-Clinet. The replanted vineyard, planted at a density of over 8,000 vines per hectare, will be planted with the classic right bank grape varieties of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc

93-95 Points
"Compared to the La Chenade, the 2025 Château Les Cruzelles is often more structured and serious in style. It's another Pomerol look-alike that brings ample structure, medium-bodied richness, a nicely focused mouthfeel, and beautiful aromatics of ripe blue fruits, spring flowers, violets, and chocolate on the nose. It's another brilliant wine in the lineup from this family estate. "
