2019 Favia - Coombsville Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley (750ml)
2019 Favia Coombsville Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley (750ml)
A collaborative expression from Annie Favia and winemaker Andy Erickson, this Cabernet Sauvignon embodies a philosophy of minimal intervention that lets each vineyard speak for itself. From Coombsville, in the southeastern corner of Napa Valley, the wine reflects a cool, gravelly volcanic terroir shaped by breezes from San Pablo Bay and the gentle restraint of old-world winemaking.
Terroir & Sourcing
- Origin: Coombsville, Napa Valley
- Soil & Climate: Gravelly, volcanic soils cooled by San Pablo Bay, contributing nuance and elegance even at higher ripeness
- Vineyard Sources: Drawn mostly from the Meteor vineyard along with two additional sites
- Agriculture: Farmed organically
Winemaking & Aging
The blend undergoes careful handling with a focus on expressing the vineyard character. Grapes were aged close to twenty months in French oak with minimal racking, preserving texture and depth while maintaining a balanced, refined structure.
Tasting Notes
The wine pours a deep, nearly opaque purple. Its perfumed nose unfolds with blueberry and black cherry, accented by violet, dried sage, pencil shavings, and baking spice. On the palate, dense dark fruit meets savory loam and cocoa flavors, guided by firm tannins and a long, persistent finish.
Cellaring & Drinking Window
Structured for the cellar yet already generous, this Cabernet Sauvignon invites thoughtful aging to develop additional complexity while remaining enjoyable in its youth.
