Vincent Girardin built his name on the great whites of the Côte de Beaune, and this old-vine Meursault shows why. It’s a blend of village parcels on limestone and marl, including lieux-dits like Les Chevalières, Les Tessons and Le Rougeot. The grapes are hand-harvested and slowly pressed, then fermented on native yeasts in French oak with only a small share of new barrels. The wine ages about 14 months on its fine lees, without stirring, to keep it pure. Expect bright gold color and classic Meursault aromas of roasted hazelnut, almond, white flowers and a touch of flint. The palate is rich and full, balanced by fresh acidity, with a long, velvety finish. A natural with lobster, scallops in butter, roast chicken or Comté.
