Domaine Huet has stood at the pinnacle of Vouvray since Victor Huet founded the estate in 1928, with his son Gaston later taking full control and turning the domaine into an early champion of biodynamic farming. That commitment to careful, minimal-intervention viticulture across the estate's three storied vineyards has made Huet synonymous with age-worthy Chenin Blanc, admired by collectors and sommeliers around the world.

Le Mont, acquired by the estate in 1957, sits on a steep, south-facing slope of shallow green clay scattered with flint over fractured limestone, considered the coolest and most demanding of Huet's three crus. The eight-hectare site is harvested entirely by hand across multiple passes, allowing pickers to select only the ripest bunches. Fermentation takes place at controlled temperature in a mix of old oak demi-muids and stainless steel, preserving the site's characteristic tension and salinity.

The wine offers a restrained nose of green apple, quince, and pear blossom, layered with chalky minerals and a faintly saline edge. On the palate it is dense yet lively, with bright acidity carrying through to a long, precise finish. Pair it with seared scallops, grilled sole, or a soft-ripened cheese.

93 Points
"A silky, streamlined beam of green plum, star fruit and pear blossoms is dusted with green herbs. Salty density builds, with the purity of fruit bolstered by succulent acidity and chalky mineral notes. Floral high tones grace the finish, which shows precision and focus. Beautiful now but a bit tightly wound; this will taste better with time in bottle. Drink now through 2035. 800 cases made"
