Mumm Napa carries the heritage of G.H. Mumm, the Champagne house founded in Reims in 1827, and has made sparkling wine in the valley since the late 1970s using traditional methods. Brut Prestige is its signature bottling and the clearest statement of the house style.

This non-vintage cuvée blends 45 percent Pinot Noir, 45 percent Chardonnay, and 10 percent Pinot Gris and Pinot Meunier. Grapes are picked by hand in the cool morning hours, then fermented cold, mainly in stainless steel tanks, with a few lots in French oak for added depth and spice. After blending, the wine goes through secondary fermentation in bottle and rests on its yeast for an average of 18 months. It is disgorged in a brut style, receives its dosage, and spends three more months on the cork to integrate.

Pale lemon in the glass with a fine mousse, it opens with white blossom, red apple, stone fruit, and creamy vanilla, along with hints of toast, honey, and gingerbread spice. Yeast aging adds a freshly baked bread character to the medium-bodied palate, where bright citrus and vibrant acidity keep the finish crisp and lingering.

91 Points
"Packs in a lot of complexity, with aromas of apple, fresh ginger and rubber that lead to crisp and layered flavors of raspberry and spice"
—Wine Spectator
