2024 Altesino - Rosso di Montalcino DOC (750ml)
From the eastern hills of Montalcino near Siena in central Tuscany, the 2024 Altesino Rosso di Montalcino DOC (750ml) captures a youthful, terroir-driven expression of Sangiovese Grosso sourced from younger vines across the estate's key sites.
This Rosso is crafted from select Sangiovese Grosso grapes grown on younger vines in the Altesino, Pianezzine, Macina, and Castelnuovo dell'Abate vineyards. After fermentation in stainless steel, the wine ages in large oak barrels of varied maturity for six to eight months, followed by three months in bottle.
Altesino, nestled in Montalcino's eastern hills and housed in a remarkable 14th‑century palazzo, has long been an innovator—the first Montalcino producer to introduce single-vineyard cru wines, with its Montosoli Brunello regarded among the region's finest. Today, the winemaking team is led by Simone Giunti and Alessandro Ciacci, upholding a tradition of craftsmanship and terroir-driven winemaking.
