"Harvested between September 30 and October 14, one of the latest harvests in the Médoc, the 2024 Château Phélan Ségur is impressive, with a remarkable sense of purity and finesse. Currants, violets, ripe cherries, and spicy herbs all define the aromatics. It's medium-bodied and seamless on the palate, with a pure, elegant mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and a great finish. The blend is 68% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, and 2% Petit Verdot, from yields of 30 hectoliters per hectare, and it will spend 16 to 18 months in 55% new French oak. It comes in at 13% alcohol with a pH of 3.72. This is an incredibly successful Médoc that should evolve gracefully over the next two decades. "
